We're SO happy to announce that our little girl Charlie has been adopted & she has gotten to "Go Home 4 The Holidays!" She will be loved & cherished for the rest of her life with her very own Mom & Dad! Charlie is our #462nd adoption!

'** Be sure to watch Charleen’s video below**

Charleen is a small, young, between 2-3 year old purebred Lhasa Apso who is calm, very sweet &
affectionate with a beautiful Cream & Peach color coat & just the cutest little Snaggle tooth!  She hadn’t been groomed for some time when she was rescued & was a matted mess so it was necessary to shave her down but her lovely curly long coat has come in beautifully. As her foster mom I love that she wags her tail every time you say her name & just wants to sit on your lap all day if you let her.

Based on my years of experience in rescue & as a Foster Mom to over 460 pups & dogs -- it's also important to understand I can tell she is very fearful of children. Clearly in her past small kids have been abusive to her & there is real fear in her eyes. For that reason I will not adopt her into a home where there are young children or even if "grandchildren" who visit often. She deserves to live with a family who will protect her from children & not try to force her to deal with her fears.

We’ve also found that Charleen would prefer to not have to share “her persons lap" with other dogs. She has gotten along with several foster dogs here but when it comes to sitting next to "her person" which is what she wants to do ---- --- she wants to be the only one there on the lap or chair or sofa.  For that reason we’re going to have to insist that she is adopted “as an only child.”

She also adores just sitting outside in the backyard enjoying a lovely day. While many dogs run outside to potty & are right back scratching at the door to come in -- she's always the last to come back in the house. Besides a dog safety, that's another reason a safe fenced in yard is mandatory with our rescue so that our little "nature lovers" like Charleen can enjoy their day.

I call her "Charlie" and when I call her when she is outside she comes running very fast churning those short little legs wagging her tail like a flag. She has proved to be a great little companion dog & will love anyone who needs a little dog who wants to be with you all the time!

LnF Dog Rescue does have a general policy that we believe that Senior Citizens, 65 & up, should adopt more mature older dogs 5-6 years and up. Everyone wants young cute little dogs like Charleen but if you really want to save a life & have a wonderful companion, give a home to a more mature adult dog who are killed by the hundreds daily in shelters just for being 5-6 years old & up.  In that was you will be truly saving a dog’s life in a shelter or rescue by adopting a mature dogs who needs you & will be making room for another dog who needs help. Thank you for understanding our position based on our years of experience.

If interested in adopting please read our adoption requirements, a fenced in yard is always mandatory – no exceptions. If you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at this website.

LNF Dog Rescue adopts in PA, NJ, MD & DE with a 2 hour travel limit one way from our location in New Castle DE 19720. A fence & a home visit is always mandatory, no exceptions. For more info visit us at www.lnfdogs.org
